Determining Forming Limit Diagrams Using Sub-Sized Specimen Geometry and Comparing FLD Evaluation Methods

چکیده
Sheet metal forming boundaries are established using the limit diagram (FLD). The Nakajima and Marciniak tests, which based on stretching a material punch, most commonly used methods for determining FLD or fracture (FFLD). results usually evaluated by calculating local strain, strain rates, specimen thickness reduction strain. When amount of experimental is insufficient, miniaturization testing specimens may be solution. However, interchangeability standard miniaturized has not been proven yet. In this study, tests were performed sub-sized made manganese–boron steel 22MnB5, in automotive industry. Afterwards, four FLD/FFLD evaluation applied compared. yielded higher values, was explained varied ratio thickness/punch diameter different bending conditions. highest compliance recorded FFLD.

The Performance of Karafillis-Boyce Yield Function on Determination of Forming Limit Diagrams
Forming Limit Diagrams are useful tools for evaluation of formability in the sheet metals. In this paper the effects of yield criteria on predictions of the right and left-hand sides of forming limit diagrams (FLDs) are investigated. In prediction of FLD, Hosford 1979, “Karafillis-Boyce” (K-B) and BBC2000 anisotropy yield functions have been applied. Whereas the prediction of FLD is based on th...
متن کاملnumerical evaluation of the effect of forming velocity on forming limit diagram (fld) of st14 steel using bifurcation theory and comparison with experimental results
forming limit diagram (fld) is an important diagram by which the formability of sheet metals is studied. strain rate is a very effective parameter influencing the fld which is, in turn, influenced by the forming velocity. in this work, forming limit diagram for st14 was investigated both experimentally and numerically. in addition, the effect of forming velocity was studied and the experiments ...

the forming limit diagram (fld) is a useful method for characterizing the formability of sheet metals. in this paper, different numerical models were used to investigate the fld of tailor welded blank (twb). twbs were co2 laser-welded samples of interstitial-free (if) steel sheets with different thicknesses. the results of the numerical models were compared with the experimental fld as well as ...
متن کاملPrediction of forming limit curves (FLD, MSFLD and FLSD) and necking time for SS304L sheet using finite element method and ductile fracture criteria
Forming limit curves are used as a parameter in finite element analysis to control the material's level of formability. In this research, forming limit diagram (FLD) of SS304L sheet was obtained by ABAQUSfinite element software. In practice, the experimental determination of a forming limit curve is a very time-consuming procedure which requires special and expensive equipment. Forming limit di...
